10.6.2003: Meldung: Dynetek Industries Ltd.: Hydrogen Storage Delivered
Monday June 9, 11:13 am ET
CALGARY, June 9 / Dynetek Industries Ltd. ("Dynetek") announced today its participation in the Vancouver Fuel Cell Vehicle Project to test five of Ford"s fuel-cell vehicles in the Vancouver area to determine how they will operate in "real world" conditions. Dynetek"s hydrogen storage cylinders will be incorporated into Ford"s third generation fuel cell vehicles that will be leased to Fuel Cells Canada (FCC).
The $5.8 million, three-year project is the first fleet demonstration of fuel cell vehicles in Canada. The project, which is primarily funded by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), Climate Change Action Fund-Technology Early Action Measures, the Government of B.C. and the National Research Council (NRC), will be coordinated by FCC with NRC providing an all- weather test facility at its Innovation Centre.
The Hybridized Ford Focus Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV) incorporates Dynetek"s hydrogen storage technology, storing compressed hydrogen at 5000psi. The vehicle runs on a zero emission fuel cell engine that converts chemical energy into electrical energy using hydrogen and oxygen. Demonstrating the third generation FCV will provide valuable information on performance, durability and reliability that can be applied towards the evolution of fuel cell vehicles to the commercial marketplace.
"We are proud to be a contributor to the Vancouver Fuel Cell Vehicle Partnership and to be aligned with such a group of influential government and industry partners", said Robb Thompson, Dynetek"s President and CEO. "Canada is on the leading edge of fuel cell and hydrogen storage technology and this project will bring us one step closer to commercial adoption of the technology."
