12.7.2006: Meldung: Solar Night Industries Establishes Russian R&D Arm

Solar Night Industries, Inc., a solar solutions company for consumers, commercial, industrial and governmental customers, today announced the addition to its ranks of Professor Eli Goldstein, Ph.D, a Moscow-based academic with expertise in nuclear physics, transportation, and magnetic levitation. Professor Goldstein will head up the Moscow Office of SNI and joins the Solar Night Industries international R&D team to lead an effort to identify and secure Russian solar technologies and products for the wider international market.

Over the last few years, Russia has developed a significant number of technologies and applications in the solar arena for space, security, and energy saving projects. After the disintegration of the USSR, as contacts with United States became more commonplace, many of the unique solar technologies developed by Russian scientists and industry became available to the western world.

"Russian know-how in the fields of human space exploration, shuttle design, International Space Station support, photovoltaic cells, telecommunications upgrades and breakthroughs, physical vapor deposition systems, and high-efficiency solar cells, among others, make it one of the world"s greatest untapped resources for future-looking alternative energy development," stated Dr. Goldstein.

Among the areas of Russian technology and products which Dr. Goldstein hopes to analyze and source for SNI are a variety of solar cells, solar consumer products, solar lights, solar cell chargers and solar water pumps. In addition, Dr. Goldstein will be an integral part of the SNI R&D team as the company seeks new applications for solar technologies.

"A strategic alliance with Russian science and technology gives Solar Night Industries a significant head start in the accelerating innovation process and a real competitive advantage as a solar solutions provider," explained SNI President Jason Loyet. "Solar Night Industries, Inc. is excited at the promise of working with Russia in this exciting area. Dr. Eli Goldstein is valuable addition to the SNI team."
