SANTA CLARA, Calif.--Jan. 15, 2003--Transmeta Corporation (Nasdaq:TMTA - News) today announced that Tsinghua Unisplendour Group, China"s second largest notebook supplier, has selected the energy efficient Crusoe TM5800 processor for a new notebook in the Chinese market.
The Crusoe-based notebook Lilly notebook, weighing just 3.5 lbs, was launched today in Beijing and will be marketed to women in China as an attractive alternative to traditional larger, heavier notebooks.

"Transmeta"s Crusoe processor is an excellent match for the performance, power efficiency and complete design requirements of the Lilly notebook," said John Huang, general manager of the notebook computer business department, Unisplendour.
The Lilly notebook, featuring an 800 MHz Crusoe TM5800 processor, is designed in a sturdy yet lightweight casing. It includes a 20 gigabyte hard drive, 128 megabytes of memory, a 12.1" XGA screen and an expected battery life up to four hours.
The Tsinghua Unisplendour Group"s Lilly notebook is immediately available in China and is priced at $1,200 (U.S. dollars).
