Ormat Technologies, Inc. Honored with Geothermal Centenary Recognition Award

SPARKS, Nev., Dec. 15 / Ormat Technologies Inc. was honored by receiving the "Centenary Recognition Award" from the Italian Geothermal Union (UGI) on December 10, 2005 at the closing ceremony of the program celebrating the centenary of geothermal power.
The award was presented to Ormat in recognition of its "outstanding achievements in developing geothermal power generation worldwide."

The ceremony, with the participation of policy makers, public authorities, representatives of the industry and academic world, and energy experts and representatives of cultural associations was held at the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence as part of the commemoration of 100 years of geothermal electricity generation. Only a select few institutions, organizations, and individuals were similarly honored at the event.

Mr Lucien Bronicki, Chairman and CTO, was present to receive this prestigious award on behalf of Ormat, from Dr Giancarlo Passaleva, President of UGI.

"This singularly distinguished award is recognition of the effort, collaboration and perseverance by a large number of Ormat colleagues over many years to achieve our vision," emphasized Mr Bronicki.
