17.6.2003: Meldung: Vestas: Large order for the Australian market

Vestas - Australian Wind Technology Pty. Ltd., which is 100% owned by the Vestas Group, has received a turnkey contract for deliveries to the Lake Bonney Wind Farm project. The contract comprises 46 units of Vestas V66-1.75 MW turbines, remote monitoring system, foundations, electrical and civil infrastructure as well as operation and maintenance of the power plant.

The 80.5 MW project is scheduled for completion in the beginning of 2005 and will be located near Millicent in South Australia. The contract, which has a value to Vestas of more than mEUR 65, has been awarded by Lake Bonney Wind Power Pty. Ltd., a 50/50 joint venture owned by Babcock & Brown Pty. Ltd., located in Sydney, and National Power Partners, located in San Francisco and Sydney. "This is an important order that confirms our positive expectations to the Australian market and Vestas" capability as turnkey supplier of wind power systems", says Svend Sigaard, Managing Director of Vestas Wind Systems A/S.

The above mentioned order does not influence the Vestas Group"s expectations for year 2003, cf. Stock Exchange announcement no. 09/2003 of 28 May 2003.
