Panels to address the large building-integrated PV market in Germany
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 18, 2004 United Solar Ovonic LLC (Uni-Solar Ovonic), the world leader in thin-film amorphous-silicon solar technology and a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:ENER), today announced that it has received an order for 1 MW of photovoltaic (PV) panels from ThyssenKrupp Hoesch Bausysteme GmbH (Thyssen). The products will be used by Thyssen to address the expanding building-integrated PV market in Germany. 500 kW has already been shipped, and the balance will be shipped before April 2004.
Thyssen has been a pioneer in introducing flexible UNI-SOLAR® products integrated with metal pans in the German market. "The UNI-SOLAR® products are aesthetically pleasing and can be easily integrated with the metal roofs offered by Thyssen," said Dr.Hans-Dieter Lindenblatt, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thyssen.
