Greenlight Subsidiary Expands Product Line, Wins Contract to Supply Five G50 Test Stations to Automotive Client
TORONTO, April 19 / -- Greenlight Power Technologies, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hydrogenics Corporation (Nasdaq: HYGS - News; TSX: HYG - News), today announced the expansion of its next-generation G-Series fuel cell test station product line. The expanded product line solidifies Hydrogenics" position as a world leading supplier of fuel cell test equipment.
Hydrogenics" FCATS(TM) (Fuel Cell Automated Test Systems) are used by many world-leading fuel cell development programs to meet their expanding fuel cell testing requirements. The expanded platform now includes four new models, each designed to meet the needs of specific fuel cell test markets.
The FCATS G50 expands Greenlight"s product offerings in the single cell and component R&D testing niche. It is designed to offer accuracy and reliability for testing in low power ranges, at an attractive price. Greenlight is pleased to announce that it has already received an order for five G50 test stations from one of its automotive customers.
The expanded G-Series product line also includes the FCATS G300, designed to meet the needs of customers testing large-area single cells or short stacks, between 0.5 to 4 kilowatts, and the FCATS G700, a high-power general purpose test station designed to test full automotive stacks in the 10 to 100 kW power range. The first product in the G-Series product line, the FCATS G500, was unveiled at the 2003 Fuel Cell Seminar in Miami. The G500 is a general purpose test station designed to test stacks in the 2 to 12 kilowatt range.
"Through the acquisition of Greenlight we were able to capitalize on both companies" strengths in test system R&D and product development to solidify our position as a leading global supplier of fuel cell test equipment," said Pierre Rivard, President and CEO of Hydrogenics. "We are very pleased with Greenlight"s rapid progress in combining our best technologies in a comprehensive portfolio of FCATS product offerings designed to competitively meet our customers" needs in a variety of power ranges. This, combined with an order for multiple stations from a highly valued client tells us we are on the right track in our endeavor to maintain our leadership in the test equipment market."
The G Series test stations offer superior reliability and maintainability as a result of thorough in-house testing, selection of high quality components and well-designed accessibility to the test station"s internals. Operator efficiency is enhanced by an optimized graphical user interface and stack interface. In addition, all new test stations are designed to allow customization to meet a client"s specific needs.
