CECO Environmental to Open New Facility to Meet Growing Demand

NEW YORK, Oct. 20 -- CECO Environmental Corp. (Nasdaq: CECE - News), a leading provider of industrial ventilation and pollution control systems, announced today the opening of a new Kirk & Blum facility in Canton, Mississippi to serve the growing needs of the industrial markets in the Southeastern United States. David Blum, President of Kirk & Blum stated, "We are expanding Kirk & Blum"s physical presence in Mississippi because of its proximity in serving the ongoing maintenance and service needs of this important market segment". Blum added, "We completed significant projects at a Greenfield site in that area. Ongoing sales opportunities will be greatly enhanced as a result of our local presence."Additionally, Kirk & Blum announced that it has secured a contract of approximately $400,000 to provide ventilation systems for a packaging manufacturing facility located in the Southeastern United States.
Kirk & Blum has also secured two foundry projects. One, valued at approximately $250,000 is for maintenance work, to be provided on an annual basis, for a foundry in the Southeastern United States. The other, valued at about $250,000, is for ventilation equipment for a foundry located in the Midwest.
CECO is currently in negotiations with its existing banking group to extend its revolving line of credit, which matures in 2004. Chairman and CEO, Phillip DeZwirek, agreed to inject capital into CECO to facilitate the successful negotiation of the credit facility.
