24.9.2003: Meldung: IMPCO received Executive Order for a General Motors industrial engine
IMPCO Technologies, Inc. announced today it has received Executive Order approval from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for the General Motors 4.3 Lt. industrial engine. This approval confirms the engine, with the new IMPCO SPECTRUM electronic emissions control system, complies with the new CARB and Federal EPA off-road industrial emission standards that become effective January 1, 2004. The company also confirmed it has received CARB durability approval for the General Motors 1.6 Lt., 3.0 Lt., and 5.7 Lt. engines with additional Executive Order approvals to follow.
Mr. Brad Garner, IMPCO Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Americas & Asia Pacific, said: "This approval clears the way for IMPCO to execute existing and pending orders for certified engine systems that enable our industry leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to meet the new emission regulations." He added: "We have commitments in place for shipments that will begin in the fourth quarter with potential incremental revenue growth next year of $50 million. As the industry leading market share holder, and the only company to have emission certification on the popular GM engine, IMPCO is well positioned for significant growth in this new $400 million market."
Under the new emission regulations, OEMs cannot sell their equipment into the off-road mobile market after January 1, 2004 unless it is certified to meet stringent emission standards. The CARB Executive Order confirms the IMPCO engine meets the stringent requirements for mobile forklift trucks, power generators, sweepers, pumps and compressors.
