30.12.2003: Meldung: Suez S.A.: Purchase of EDF"s stake in Compagnie Nationale du Rhône
Suez, via its subsidiary Electrabel, has just concluded the acquisition of EDF"s stake in the capital of Compagnie Nationale du Rhône (CNR). This transaction covers 600,000 shares, i.e., 22.22% of the share capital and 20% of the voting rights.
At the same time, the Group has purchased the stake held by the Villefranche and Beaujolais Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which represents 1,503 shares (0.06% of the share capital and 0.10% of the voting rights).
Following these transactions, Suez, via its subsidiary Electrabel, owns 47.88% of the share capital of CNR and 46.06% of its voting rights.
This operation gives Suez the means to pursue its development on the French market and reinforces the strategic cooperation agreement between Electrabel and CNR. It also consolidates Suez" role as leading private operator on the French electricity market.
