Active Power, Inc., manufacturer of the most efficient, reliable, and power-dense power quality systems available in the industry today, announced that Gary Rackow has joined Active Power as the company"s new Vice President of Sales for the Americas. In this role he will be responsible for the North American and Latin American markets.

Active Power continues to increase its penetration into these markets and with our ability to attract a proven industry veteran like Gary, we are well positioned to further capitalize on an accelerated growth trajectory," said Jim Clishem, President and CEO of Active Power. Gary joins the company from Piller, Inc. where he spent the past 20 years and held positions of Vice President Sales & Marketing, Director Sales & Service, and Vice President Systems Development, to name a few. "Gary"s experiences at Piller managing the technical sales and marketing activities for North America make him a fantastic fit for the Active Power team," continued Clishem.

Mr. Rackow is a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and he graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in New York.
