4.8.2004: Meldung: Hydrogenics Hires New Vice President of Operations for Greenlight

Hydrogenics Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of hydrogen and fuel cell systems, today announced the appointment of Dr. Mel Ogmen to the position of Vice President Operations at the Company"s Vancouver-based subsidiary, Greenlight Power Technologies. Greenlight is a leading global supplier of testing and diagnostic equipment to the fuel cell industry. Dr. Ogmen is reporting to Pierre Rivard, President and CEO of Hydrogenics.

"Hydrogenics prides itself on depth of experience in its Greenlight team and Mel will be a great addition to the leadership of that team," said Pierre Rivard. "Mel will be instrumental in driving newly established goals and outcomes as we maintain our strong commitment to our fuel cell test business. Hydrogenics also announced today the forthcoming departure effective September 1, 2004, of Mr. James Dean, President of Greenlight. "We are grateful for James"""" contribution to Hydrogenics and wish him well in his future endeavors," said Pierre Rivard. Mr. Dean joined Hydrogenics in January of 2003 with Hydrogenics"""" acquisition of Greenlight and was instrumental in the successful execution of the acquisition and subsequent integration of the two organizations.

Mr. Ogmen""""s career began in 1987 as the first employee of Powerlasers, an entrepreneurial developer of innovative laser technologies for the automotive parts market. Under Mel""""s leadership Powerlasers went on to have particular commercial success in laser tailor blanking, culminating in a deal being struck with Triam Automotive in 1995. In 1997 Mel was appointed by Triam to set up Advanced Technology Center (ATC) to engineer and build large-scale production equipment utilizing high power lasers. This company was purchased by Magna International in 1998 and subsequently bought by Dofasco in 2000. Mel""""s accomplishments over his career with ATC included the start-up of a high technology division from scratch, developing unique welding technology for major automotive OEMs that resulted in substantial sales, and achieving Tier 1 status and QS9000 TE designation.

Dr. Ogmen received his B.Sc. in Physics at Nottingham University in England and subsequently received his M.Sc. (Physics) from the University of Manitoba and Ph.D. (Physics) from York University in Toronto.
