4.9.2003: Meldung: Vestas receives turnkey contracts for Portugal
Vestas - Danish Wind Technology A/S, which is 100% owned by the Vestas Group, has received turnkey contracts in Portugal for a total of 34 MW with options for supply of
additional 24 MW. The orders comprise a total of 17 units of Vestas V80-2.0 MW turbines, towers, remote monitoring system, foundations, electrical and civil infrastructure as well as operation and maintenance of the power plants. These projects are scheduled for completion in 2004 and will be located in the central region of Portugal.
The contracts, which have a value to Vestas of more than mEUR 57 if the options are fully utilised, have been awarded by Enersis SGPS, S.A., the largest Portuguese wind energy
developer, and Enernova - Novas Energias, S.A., the second largest wind energy developer in Portugal, owned by the local utility EDP - Electricidade de Portugal S.A.
"The Portuguese market is developing positively and contributes to expand our market spread", says Svend Sigaard, Managing Director of Vestas Wind Systems A/S and continues "Vestas" MW turbine technology has been well received in the Portuguese market and we see the new contracts as a confirmation of Vestas" capabilities as turnkey supplier of wind power systems".
