5.10.2004: Meldung: Kansas City Southern Announces Senior Vice President and General Counsel
Kansas City Southern (KCS) announced today that Robert B. Terry has been appointed senior vice president and general counsel. Mr. Terry joins KCS from Farmland Industries, Inc., where he held a variety of senior executive positions from 1989 to 2004, including president and chief executive officer from 2002 to 2004 and executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary from 2000 to 2002.
Mr. Terry has 23 years of corporate legal experience with skills ranging from corporate administration, human resources, environmental, health and safety to communications and government relations. Most recently, Terry led Farmland Industries, Inc. through Chapter 11 reorganization and liquidation.
"We are pleased that Bob Terry will bring his legal and managerial expertise to KCS," said Michael R. Haverty, KCS chairman, president and chief executive officer. "Bob"s proven ability to control legal matters in the midst of major challenges will be important as we continue to develop business in the NAFTA trade corridor."
Mr. Terry holds a law degree from the University of Missouri Columbia. He also graduated cum laude with a dual bachelor of science and bachelor of arts in accounting from the University of Missouri Columbia.
KCS is a transportation holding company that has railroad investments in the U.S., Mexico and Panama. Its primary holding is The Kansas City Southern Railway Company, which serves customers in the central and south central regions of the U.S. KCS" rail holdings and investments are primary components of a NAFTA Railway system that links the commercial and industrial centers of the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
