6.10.2005: Meldung: ARISE Signs Letter of Intent to Supply 5MW of PV Cells
ARISE Technologies, in collaboration with the University of Toronto, is developing high efficiency, low cost PV cells for the global PV market that has grown from US$5.0 billion in 2003 to an estimated US$11.1 billion in 2005. The solar cells are produced using the patented DC Saddle-Field thin film technology that permits the production of high quality films on large areas allowing the production of thin-film on silicon hybrid PV cells.
Ian MacLellan, CEO of ARISE today stated, "We are very pleased to be working in collaboration with Day4 to help them bring their PV modules to market. This is a great validation of our high efficiency PV cells, which will help increase the power output of Day4"s power generation products. We look forward to helping them reach their goal of making PV power generation cost competitive with conventional fossil fuel-based power generation technologies."
John MacDonald, Chairman and CEO of Day4 stated, "We are pleased to welcome ARISE as a strategic supplier of PV Cells to Day4. Products based on ARISE"s high efficiency cells will be very complimentary to our existing power generation products and together will create a very real possibility of revolutionizing the world"s power generation industry by making PV a mainstream power generation technology." John has been aware of ARISE"s PV technology since 2003 when he joined the ARISE advisory council.
