7.3.2007: Meldung: Herman Miller Tops Industry in FORTUNE"s "Most Admired"

For the 19th time in the past 21 years, Herman Miller is ranked as the "Most Admired" company in its industry in FORTUNE magazine"s annual survey broadly measuring the reputation of America"s corporations. The company also placed in the Top Ten among all firms surveyed in the category of Innovation.

The results, to be published in FORTUNE"s March 19, 2007, issue, rate Herman Miller first among all companies in its industry in four of the survey"s eight key attributes of reputation--Innovation, People management, Social responsibility, and Quality of products/services.

Herman Miller is the only Michigan-based company to place No. 1 among the magazine"s distinct industry listings.

"It"s great that FORTUNE recognizes our efforts to build a creative culture at Herman Miller--and to be voted first in our industry in innovation is especially meaningful," said Brian C. Walker, Herman Miller"s President and CEO. "The people of Herman Miller have earned this recognition with their commitment to excellence--and their drive to enrich the lives and businesses of our customers."

The magazine characterizes the annual listing as "the definitive report card on corporate reputations." To compile the Most Admired list, FORTUNE enlisted the help of Hay Group, which sorted the FORTUNE 1,000 and the top foreign companies operating in the U.S. into distinct industry lists, each containing the ten largest companies. A total of 616 companies in 68 industries were surveyed.

Herman Miller helps create great places to work, heal, learn, and live by researching, designing, manufacturing, and distributing innovative interior solutions that support companies, organizations, and individuals all over the world. The company"s award-winning products, complemented by furniture management and strategic consulting services, generated over $1.7 billion in revenue during fiscal 2006. Herman Miller is widely recognized both for its innovative products and business practices. Herman Miller is a recipient of the prestigious National Design Award for product design from the Smithsonian Institution"s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum. In 2007, the company was once again cited by CRO magazine in its annual listing of "100 Best Corporate Citizens." The company trades on the NASDAQ Global Select Market under the symbol MLHR.
