GT Solar, a global provider of specialized equipment and technology for the solar power industry, today announced that it has won the 2009 American Business Award for Best Overall Company of the Year - Up to 2,500 Employees. GT Solar was also named a finalist in the Fastest-Growing Company of the Year category for similarly sized companies.

The only national, all encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business, the American Business Awards is presented by The Stevie Awards, the organizer of some of the world's leading business recognition events. This year's American Business Awards attracted more than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and virtually every industry.
