Hoku Corporation, a materials science company focused on clean energy technologies, today announced it has officially changed its name from Hoku Scientific, Inc. to Hoku Corporation.
"When we founded the Company, the name Hoku Scientific reflected our core research-driven business developing innovative fuel cell technology," said Dustin Shindo, chairman and chief executive officer of Hoku Corporation. "However, as our business has continued to evolve, we felt the name Hoku Corporation better reflected our strategic direction as a diversified, global clean energy company."
While the Company's official corporate name is Hoku Corporation, the Company will generally do business under the name Hoku, and as Hoku Solar and Hoku Materials for its photovoltaic systems installation and polysilicon businesses, respectively.
