Tetra Tech: $400 Million Multiple-Award

PASADENA, California - Tetra Tech, Inc. (TTEK) announced it has been awarded a $400 million contract to provide technical assistance for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) clean energy program development in critical priority countries. The countries specified are Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, South Sudan and Yemen, but others could be added later. Five companies, including two small businesses, will share in the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract. The contract has a five-year ordering period.

 Under this contract Tetra Tech will help USAID address the growing demand for and use of clean energy services by designing clean energy strategies in critical priority countries. Tetra Tech will help improve governance structures to support clean energy development, assess the environmental implications of energy services, and help foster private sector participation and investment in clean energy.

 Tetra Tech will also assist USAID in its efforts to reduce global warming by promoting the sustainable use of renewable energy technologies, energy efficient technologies, and carbon sequestration. The contract includes provisions for improving national or local government capacity in the energy sector to prepare for and respond to natural or man-made disasters.
