Welwind Energy International Corp.: Windfarms Not Affected by Sichuan, China Earthquake

SAN DIEGO, May 14, 2008 -- Welwind Energy International Corp. (the "Company"') announces that both of its Windfarm projects located in the Guangdong Province were not impacted by Monday's 7.9 magnitude earthquake in Sichuan Province. The distance between Zhanjiang (Guangdong) and Mianyang (Sichuan) is 1270 kilometers (km).

We are saddened by Monday's devastating earthquake and continue to pray for individual relationships that Welwind has in China that have been impacted by this horrible event. We continue to await news from friends and our hearts go out to those affected.

Employees of Welwind will be making individual donations to a relief fund through Vancouver-based, Chinese-language radio station AM1320. The station, with strong personal ties to Sichuan, has set up a China Earthquake relief fund under the name ``am1320cerf'' at HSBC Bank. 100 per cent of the donations made to any HSBC branch will go to victims of the disaster.
