Amtech Systems, Inc. (ASYS), a global supplier of production equipment and related supplies for the solar, semiconductor, and LED markets, announced its solar segment, consisting of Tempress Systems, Inc., R2D Automation, and SoLayTec, has received approximately $27 million in new solar orders since January 1, 2016, including orders previously announced.  Since the beginning of Amtech's fiscal year (October 1, 2015), solar orders now total approximately $50 million and the most recent solar orders include a repeat order for the Company's next generation diffusion systems.  Including non-solar orders, the company has booked approximately $76 million in total orders since the start of its fiscal year.

Fokko Pentinga, Chief Executive Officer of Amtech, commented, "We are pleased that the strong level of solar bookings, which started in the December quarter, continued into the March quarter. We are seeing healthy quotation activity within our solar segment.  With respect to our goal to have a diversified mix of revenues we are encouraged by the signs of some improvement we are now seeing in our electronics and LED businesses."
