Orion Energy: Commitments for $2.1 Million
MANITOWOC, Wis. - Orion Energy Systems, Inc. (NYSE MKT: OESX), a leading designer and manufacturer of energy management systems consisting primarily of high-performance, energy-efficient lighting platforms, announced Orion has been awarded commitments from a major U.S. Federal agency totaling $2.1 million. This agency operates in excess of 30,000 offices across the country.
Orion will retrofit five different government facilities in separate locations throughout the country with a combination of Orion products, 80% of which are LED fixtures and controls. All installations will be completed by the end of the 2015 fiscal year.
John Scribante, Chief Executive Officer of Orion, stated, "We continue to gain momentum in securing larger orders for our LED products and lighting solutions and our strategies to provide breakthrough LED technologies and expand our customer base are clearly working. Our sales team worked diligently to secure this opportunity, and we believe this could lead to further orders as our value proposition is proven through gains in energy efficiency and quality of light improvements at these facilities. These recent agreements add to a long list of government lighting projects Orion has completed in the past, and we intend to leverage these relationships as we ramp up sales of our new LED lighting products. We are targeting markets in commercial, office, and retail in both the public and private sectors, and believe an expanded suite of products and continued sales efforts will help us capitalize on these opportunities."
